Books, books, books

My long pause is over and books are once again in the pipeline. My absence hasn’t been fueled by writer’s block, only an adjacent pursuit. I spent two years going back to school at the University of Washington for a Master of Library and Information Science. I love books so much, not only do I write them, now I have a new profession that allows me to share that love with the general public.

I’ve been lucky—it turns out there are a lot of people that want to work in libraries, especially in the Seattle area—I’ve had the opportunity to work in an elementary school, at a retirement community, and now in a public library setting. My days are filled with helping people find information and their next great read. A book-lover’s dream.

I’ve even been writing a few posts for Seattle Public Library’s Shelf Talk Blog. A review of aging protagonists in novels is posted and another is slated to be up in the coming weeks.

Though I haven’t been posting on social media, I’ve continued to write, working on my Wishingworld series. The last post I made was about switching publishers in this volatile market. Well, it’s happened again. After two years of waiting for a publication date, I was released from my contract. That was a blow. After a few agonizing months of insecurity, Black Rose Writing, who published Serabelle, picked up Wished Forward and we have a new publication date of May 6, 2027! I’m excited to be working with this organized, motivating press again.
